Speaker Bio
Rebecca is an attorney in the labor and employment and education group of a large regional law firm, Phelps Dunbar, in the Gulf South based in its New Orleans, Louisiana location. She represents clients in the education, maritime, non-profit, and public sectors in litigation concerning employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour disputes, constitutional deprivation of rights, and breach of contract. As a counselor to local and national clients, she often advises on matters including employment policies, drug testing, and accommodation requests. In addition to being an avid litigator and counselor, Rebecca is passionate about making personal connections including mentoring female and minority law students and young lawyers. Rebecca has been in the leadership of several national organizations including the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation where she was also a graduate of the Diverse Leaders Academy. As a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (“NAPABA”), she was selected to be part of the 2021-2022 Leadership Advancement Program and is active with both the Young Lawyers Network Committee and the Labor and Employment Committee. Civically, Rebecca serves on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Chambers.
